The Public Humanities Hub is made up of a small team of staff and a steering committee, all of whom serve on one or more subcommittees outlined below. You may navigate through individual profiles using the menu to the left.

Subcommittees (2020-2021)

Advocacy
Helps Academic Director and staff lobby for greater support of Public Scholarship at UBC.

Awards
Awards course releases, cluster grants, and other funding.

Communications
Helps guide our social media and communications strategy, review our stats, and liaise with Arts Communications and Media Relations.

Community Partnerships
Helps Academic Director and staff imagine best ways to foster partnerships between Humanities faculty and community partners.

Development/Fundraising
Works to establish more permanent funding sources, review grant applications drafted by Hub staff, identify potential funders and opportunities, and works with Arts Alumni & Development.

Equity
Reviews our policies, programming, and communications for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.

Finance
Creates and reviews annual budgets and expenses. 

Governance
Drafts and revises strategic plan and other governance documents.

Graduate
Works with graduate academic assistants to develop public scholarship, programming, and diverse career opportunities for graduate students. 

Hiring
Assists Academic Director in drafting ads for student and staff positions.

Programming
Suggests annual programming (speakers and other events except Public Scholarship series).

Public Scholarship
Advisory for Public Scholarship training and toolkits.
