Graduate Student Survey

The Public Humanities Hub (PHH) at UBC wanted to hear from humanities graduate students about their interests, concerns, and anxieties about public scholarship, alt-ac career prospects, and the precarity of the academic job market. PHH is interested in helping humanities-trained scholars go out into the world and do public scholarship through a variety of opportunities, and we recognize that graduate students are part of our scholarly community. We plan to host a number of grad-focused events and offerings based off of the survey results, and we have compiled a final report and resources page specifically for graduate students.

If you participated in this survey, we appreciate your time and effort in helping to shape public humanities graduate programs. Thank you!

How will these results be used?

Data gathered from survey results will be shared between the UBC-V Public Humanities Hub and the UBC Arts Co-op Program. This information will help to inform new offerings for arts and humanities graduate students as well as potential funding opportunities for new programs based on stated needs. By taking this survey, graduate students have an opportunity to shape these programs and offerings. Only those participants who provide their email address will be contacted and/or placed on a mailing list as indicated in their survey results. We do not and will not share student contact information with any other parties than indicated here.
